Actually the entire unit can be purchased from BMW of Minn for $940 plus shipping and the job was rather easy to do only requiring brake bleeding after install.
I am willing to bet you the electric motor that runs the pump has sticking brushes not allowing the motor to attain correct rpms throwing a code.
I kept my unit since there was no exchange and also have both brushes making contract. Codes cleared and all is well.

Good deal the extended warranty covered this. Very poor design on the motor allowing brush dust to jam a brush from making contact with the slip ring. This is a problem over the entire fleet that used the updated 2006 design.

For me the extended warranty would have passed and this is the only code my E93 has thrown since picking it up in Munich 4/2007.

Wish I'd bought the extended warranty.

Had my ABS module/hydraulic pump replaced for $1800+. Ouch! Only 23,000 miles on my car. Lucky you!

I asked about it but they said they send them back to BMW to be refurbished

the SA also told me that the warranty company told them that they could get a refurbished unit for 900 bucks so in the end the dealer charged Carmax 1075 for the repair instead of 1750, guess they have a lot of pull, I asked if the unit was new and the SA said yes plus a 2 year warranty

Now that is a good deal. What warranty is this? Unless you have a very late 2007 it must be aftermarket and one of the good ones...

Recalls on 2007 328i

Hey ~ you may want to check out some recalls on 328i manufactured after March 2007 related to electrical problems.

Alas, my car was manufactured 11/06 - right after Oktoberfest.
