Without a doubt Mother Nature does not discriminate...although having lived in Florida we had a family rule to live as far away from trailer parks as possible as she seemed to have a particular affinity for them.

When we moved to N. TX we noticed almost all dealerships have car coverings or garages and learned they do this because of hail storms. Hail and tornadoes, where did we move?!

I can hear all our GT's saying, "I have a brother?!"

Nice alliteration, btw!

That's just an S4 btw, but this thread is pretty interesting haha.

However, no offense to the GT, those 4 inches of added height are the sole reason for it looking too big. That's why I dropped it. Do you have any plans of lowering yours Daders? If so, I can hook you up, and it would make your GT look 100X sleeker IMO, esp next to other cars.

Dropping a car works potentially for the majority of people, but being tall, dropping it 4" would mean it would be harder to get into and out of. I appreciate the height.

I edited my post thanks. Love the picture with the x5. Now that's a big car!

I'm with JAD on height. The semi command height and decent headroom means one is able to have a seat height and position for older backs. At the same time the seat can also be low for a saloon feel. The a7 runs out of headroom when the seat is raised and forget about headroom in the rear.

My idea for this thread is to show the GT may not be the most beautiful car in the lot but next to other cars but it has an aggressive masculine beauty of its own IMHO.

Thanks for the pics. Love that red roundel.

To be 100% honest with you guys, the transition from stock to lowered is nearly unnoticeable. Since the drop is only 1.5-2", besides the obvious reduced wheel gap and sleeker, more aggressive look, it is no more difficult to get in and out of. It's still a little taller than an F10 when lowered too, so don't worry. Plus, you'll be be thanking your stars for how much nicer it looks (and the many compliments), along with improved steering feel, a big complaint for the current 5ers, and the majorly improved handling. I think for $280 it's a pretty nice deal

And thanks for the compliment! I like my roundels too, I get a lot of compliments on them

Can I ask what you have done with the wheel spacing after dropping
I dropped mine on H&R springs and links, I'm running OEM 20" wheels and the were lost in the arches
Reluctant to put spacers on so ended up going back to stock - whilst I think the problem is wheel choice I was at a loss

Can we take the dropping to another thread? This thread's greatest value is if it's full of photos.

Unless....there are photos of a dropped GT next to a stock GT. I'd like to see that!

You're in luck! I have a few, will upload later.

For now however, here are some photos taken with my friend's gorgeous heavily modified Frozen Black M3. This car is quite well known all over social media.

The moment you've all been waiting for

Here is my lowered 550 GT next to a stock 535 GT. Like I said, lowering makes a HUGE difference. They almost look like two different cars.

Nice DINAN! I had no idea lowering was that inexpensive...I was under the impression that you have to stiffen the suspension to account for both the decreased ride height and having less distance to the bump stop. I could see this being a nice mod for the winds of TX, but also foresee many more issues due to super crappy road construction here (many areas around town where the roads are scratched from people bottoming out).

Apologies Ernest, I did start out about the pics though ;-)

EDIT: HAPPY JULY 4th all!!!

I just don't see what people like in station wagons. Especially Mercs… here's a silver MB R350.

Except for the front headlights, how proud MB is of that vehicle (cost of CPO was more than the GT), and the fact the wife wouldn't even test drive it or an MB wagon (claiming she didn't want to be one of those MB pretentious a-hole drivers, but rather one of those pretentios, a-hole BMW drivers ) I would have considered purchasing one due to practicality as I bet it could hold a traveling circus inside. Looking at your pictures now, I'm very glad she drew that line in the sand. Did you know that MB stopped selling these in US about 2-3 yrs ago, not sure if they stopped producing them altogether for worldwide sale?

As an aside i was looking through pictures of MB vs BMW models going back 30-40 yrs and have to say there is only one BMW model that I wouldn't pick up because of styling but plenty of MB that somebody would have to pay me to own due to some goofy looking headlight or back end design.
