Question Extended Warranty

it's about that time, and I'm looking for best experiences people have had with extended warranty offers. BMW's is capped at 2 extra years vs 3rd party providers have deals going up to 6 added years. While I want to pay less, I'm also interested in a reputable party that will make this a low hassle experience.

I would appreciate any pointers from anyone in advance. thanks!

Actually, BMW has 3 extra year 70K and 100K policies as well as the 2 year policies.

They're not cheap however...

And keep in mind that the thing warranted by BMW is specified repairs due to defects. This does not mean " any repair needed." There is a big difference, and any motor beyond 60-70k has moved into the grey zone where the distinction between service life and defect becomes vaguer with each mile.

any warranty company that can offer an additional SIX years to a 4 year BMW warranty (ie total TEN YEARS) will simply not last. IMO

Even a company that has an OK reputation may get into problems down the road.

A BMW plan may be more expensive but...(1) it will always be solvent, and (2) a BMW dealer will always accept it. (Having saio that last point you need to be careful about what is and is not coverfed...if an issue will not be covered, DONT take it to a dealer)
