Samco intake boot problem

I recently installed a Samco intake boot on my E46 M3, after the install i noticed dead zones from 5000RPM Up while under full accceleration. I thought it might be my MAF sensor so i swapped it back to the stock boot but the symptoms of the dead zones went away. Could anyone help with this issue? Remedies?

Thanks!

Maybe not getting enough fuel. If we assume tha the boot is an upgrade, it means you are getting more air. I would think you need more fuel then also. Injector clean or fuel filter or fuel reg.
