99 M Coupe w/150k?

Hello All,

I have wanted the Z3 M Coupe for a long time and I found one through a friend of mine at a dealership in which someone recently traded one in for dirt cheap. What I basically need to know is if there is anything I should look out for or make sure has been done before purchasing?

It is a 1999 with 150k which is about 10k/year right? So I figure the mileage is relatively low but I am assuming there are key items to consider that might be particular to model itself.

Thank you all in advance. I look forward to joining the Family soon!

Buyers Guide see this link.

http://www.mcoupebuyersguide.com/ind...ers-checklist/

I just bought a Z Roadster and used this list along with another for non M cars. There are several checklists for pre-purchase of a Z.... this one is for Coupes but it's specific to M cars.

Good Luck with your shopping. Don't forget to take the rose colored glasses off before you go through this checklist.

With proper maintenance, no reason to think that 150,000 miles is only halfway to a rebuild (just saw an M3__same engine__for sale with 328,000 miles!!).

The most expensive part(s) of that car to replace, or restore would be the interior and trim materials, as the mechanicals were amoratized on millions of BMWs.

Make sure the differential isn't being held up by the exhaust pipes, but even that's fixable__contact me directly for a shop in your area doing the repair__and good luck!

If the price is right buy it. 99 is a good year for the coupe. Has stability control, and the S52 is the kind of motor that will last long time. Fun car.
