Mirrors on 08 335i question

Hey guys, new 335i 2008 owner. Bought at carmax with warranty. I had a question regarding the mirrors. When I put it in reverse, the passenger mirror goes down, but not the drivers side. Should the drivers mirror move down as well? (This is when the switch is activated as well).

The idea of the passenger mirror going down is to help you see the curb so you don't scrape it as you back up while parking along the street. There's no corresponding curb on the driver side, so that's why that mirror doesn't go down.

Just make sure the switch is on driver side mirror. If switch is on passenger side mirror, it will not work

Which sucks!!!
I live on a one way street and sometimes park on the street on both sides.
I'm pretty good at parking, but the curb is pretty high, so you have to be so careful not to scratch.

When parking on the left side of the street, I open the door a bit....

Or take two whole seconds to manually tilt your driver's side mirror down
