Help - Cannot locate battery in 435i

My motorized plates have finally shipped.

However I can't seem to find the battery in the car. Any assistance is appreciated.

I hope your kidding. Is there another way to run a positive charge in the engine Bay Area?

Yes. Under the hood. Look at your owner's manual for details.

Search for "starting aid terminals" in the owner's manual, provided the question is for jump-starting.

No. The 435i no longer has electrical power in the engine bay - it's all in the rear and the battery has been relocated there.

You must motorize the rear license plate only.

You seriously cannot find the battery? Read the owner's manual! It's under the trunk under the cover on the right hand side. there are jumper terminals in the engine bay. BMW does this for weight distribution.

You do realize the battery is not the only source of electrical power for wiring things.

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but why does someone need a motorized license plate?

In lieu of fixed front license plate to avoid holes and present a "clean" front bumper.

Are you sure you have one. Perhaps the dealer forgot to install it. Call the dealer and ask him if it was installed.

In my mazda it was easy. I popped open a piece of plastic and just hooked the power for the license plate on the battery. I popped everything I could open in the bmw. Nothing looked like a battery.

If you can't find the battery on your own, I highly suggest you not to install the electronic license plate frame yourself. Just a suggestion...

If I end up having to hardwire it, I'll have a shop do it.

Come on guys, if you've never driven a European-manufactured car of course the location of the battery is going to be a head-scratcher. No normal person would think it's buried in the trunk under a storage bin!

Perhaps the owner's manual wasn't installed either?
