Installing Sirius Radio

Looking for recommendations on installing satellite radio into a 2008 528i. I've seen some aftermarket kits for sale. Is this truly a DIY or better left to a professional?

Any recommendations for the Dallas area?

Thanks

Only very late model 2010's WITH nav had them there but inactive. I tried this and I'm an 09 build and was out of luck.

If you don't have a CIC system (and you don't) then it's not there/inactive

You need to figure out if your car has sirius prep or not. If it does, adding it is very simple (basically just plug in a BMW sirius receiver + coding). If not, you have to add a loop to the MOST (fiber optic) system as well as some power wires, then connect sirius tuner + coding

You can buy a Sirius tuner on eBay. If you don't have prep you'll also have to add an antenna. The regular Sirius ones will work with newer Sirius tuners and you can hide them either under the dash or somewhere similar. the signal can go through plastic no problem

I added the module to my car and had the dealer program it because 3-years ago I didn't know anything about coding. It is not a difficult project.

Mein Auto: car
Took me about an hour from start to finish, that included mounting it, reconfiguring most bust and coding it. Probably the easiest thing you can do if you car has the sat prep kit, if not, it will be 2 hours
