Problems with my radio

For starters please forgive my ignorance if this is an easy fix. I recently purchased my first BMW (07 328xi) when I get in the car and start it I have what I would assume is a perfectly normal head unit. Then the longer the car runs the more the pixels on the right side begin to fade, and then the middle. The left side of the unit is visible no matter how long I have the car on. could this be a fuse, connection issue, or is the display just shot?

I have the exact same problem... As far as I know it's a common problem with these headunits. You have to have the LCD display fixed...

I got a new LCD from German Audio Tech on eBay for $88 and free shipping. I installed it today and it is perfect. My display got worse as it got warmer. Above 70 degrees it was unreadable.

Can you describe how you install this? And are there any more out there to be had? I am having the exact same issue.

Read the link from Diy paradise in entry 3

Read the link last link in entry 3(sorry)
If you are not skilled at soldering and diss/re assembly
you may not want to attempt this.

You really don't need soldering skills. A soldering iron with some desoldering braid is useful. There is no "electrical soldering" per se. There are small metal tabs that come through the circuit board and twist slightly to retain the board. On mine only two of the four had solder on them. This is not a hard job. Don't let it intimidate you. $88 is very cheap compared to a dealer replacement.
