Consider g37. I believe they are still selling them. They can be leased dirt cheap, loaded for under 300, if that is what's important to you

Looks like no more manual transmission or sport package available. While still a bargain, it is very dated.

The coupe, which will be debuting at the LA auto show next week, is going to be one sexy car. Was close to waiting for it to come out instead of getting the M5, but Jaguar needs to improve on its reliability.

That's a nice looking car, the rims/wheels are sexy as hell too. The only aspect I don't like is the headlights, a bit plain for me. The rear from that angle has a little bit of camaro in it with the height angling up., which I like. And to answer the OP's questions, get the 3 series obviously! The Cadillac CTS is seriously impressing me these days though, even though the styling really isn't for me. The front end of the new escalade has to beone of best looking front ends of an SUV I've seen though, at least from the press photos.

The current Passat uses the B7 chassis and the A4 the B8 chassis. In addition the Audi has a longitudinal engine and the Passat a transverse.

You've hit on a major benefit of buying VW - can, with badge replacement, have major bump in value. Viva la Volkswagen!

Actually it is more complicated. It is not the same "BX" plaforms as the Audi since the B5.5. It is rather a stretched version of the VW Golf platform.

Solution, get the IS-F without optional moonroof.

Are you sure you sat in a 2014? I'm 6'3" and my head was quite literally 2 inches into the sunroof cutout.
The headroom stat on the IS is 2 inches lower than on a 3 series.
Granted, I sit up very straight, but even if you leaned back in the seat, it would be very tight.

This same headroom discussion happened in this thread:
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=727288

The actual headroom stats are:
3 series has 40.3"
4 series has 39.8"
ATS has 38.6"
IS has 38.2"

Lets not forget the IS250 has a woefully outdated and underperforming engine. The 328 kills it, the IS350 barely equals or betters performance numbers of the 328.

The 2013 was like that for me, the 2014 was ok, similar to my E46. They had both in the showroom.

The IS250 gets a 2.0L turbo either 2nd or 3rd model year.

OK, all true, but I don't understand why there's always somebody that absolutely must prove that Audi is not rebadged VW. Like being a rebadged VW is something to be ashamed of. I own two of them ('06 Jetta TDI and '13 Golf TDI) and if we are talking FWD cars, they are extremely competent vehicles. So what if Audi is based on most competent FWD cars? Nothing to be ashamed of in my book ....

I'm more offended that new Jetta and Passat have nothing to do with Golf or Euro Passat anymore than that A4 is based off of Passat platform (or vice versa).

i'm thinking about getting one of these (F-type) as my weekend driver. the reliability is a huge concern though which makes the Cayman look a far more sensible choice.

The ATS is a fantastic car, I've driven the f30 and ATS 2.0t back to back and liked the ATS a bit more. Of course now I'm looking at e92's which drives better than both.

The ATS has major discounts right now. I was offered a base 2.0t with CUE for 29k.

Honestly, I would pick neither. If you enjoy driving save your self some money and pick up a CPO E9x N54 335i or better yet pick yourself a CPO E9x M3 for the same or close to same price. Heck in fact if you want to save even more money get yourself a nice E46 M3 or E39 M5.

If some one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to buy one of these 3 car choices you posted. Then take the 320i with M-sport or go with base ATS sport. If you ask why?...... then my answer is you will regret it in a year when the newness of these cars will wear off and you will come to realization that for a lot less money you could have picked up a more unique and fun car instead of the drab offering created to please the masses.
