Possible To Just Remove and Keep The Turn Signal Bulb Out?

Hey guys,

So would it be legally ok to remove the front turn signal bulbs and not replace them with anything? Aside from the legal aspect, will the car give me some error? The reason I ask is because the side view mirrors also have turn signals, which I assume, would be sufficent. If not, I can always replace them with seperate bulbs, as long as I get rid of this nasty orange.

Also if somebody could help me out here I would be grateful. Today I removed the panel containing the headlights, however I was unable to pull out the bulb. The back of it seems to have this black cap? Can somebody please tell me how to remove this turn signal bulb? If you have pictures that would be even more helpful.

Thanks

1) its illegal. the turn signals in the mirrors do not meet the legal requirements for front turn signals due to how far back they are

2) your car will have a constant bulb out error.

You can code the park lights off when headlights are lit if that's what is bothering you. As for headlight bulb removal, check the manual. I have Xenons so I've never looked at removal yet.

Is is illegal and your car will always give you an error.

Unless you replicate the bulb with something else....a resistor** will work! And, you needn't remove the bulbs, which might introduce condensation to your lamp housings.

Ain't life grand?

If you figure it out, let us know.

I've been trying to disable the pesky brake lights on my car to get rid of that annoying glare when I put my foot on the brake. After that project is complete, I'm going to disable the headlights.

I'll PM you how to do that.
I've also managed to disable my brakes, seat belt, airbags, lane change assist.

BTW - did you do a side view mirror and rear view mirror delete? This helps cure the glare from people and their pesky lights.

I'm also going to paint my ride Batmobile black. Do you know where it can be done cheap?

You're wasting your time for no reason. Most of us BMW drivers stopped using turn signals years ago. Just don't put them on and the nasty orange problem is gone
