Wheel Offset Questions

I have looked through the forums and cannot find the exact answer I am looking for about wheel offsets.

I have factory 18" spoke wheels that have a +30MM offset. I am looking to get M5 replica wheels that have a +35mm offset. Will there be an issue with these new wheels, or will the fit OK? Thanks!

Based on that site, I should be OK. It says "Package is 5 mm (0.2'') closer to suspension/brakes components. Acceptable for most cars." I am guessing that the 5mm difference does not put that wheel in any jeopardy of hitting the caliper. Thanks for the link.

Offset is only meaninful if the wheel width is also included in the calculation.

Wheel Offset Questions

Factory wheels are 18 x 8 all around. After market are 18 x 8 in the front and 18 x 9 in the rear, both with a +35mm offset.

The fronts will be 5mm tucked in and the rears will be 8mm closer to the fender vs OEM.

You may need a 5mm spacer in the front just to keep the wheels as poked out as the OEM's. A 12.5mm spacer will make the fronts flushed with the fender.

Wheel Offset Questions

Ok, thanks for the info. I have the option to get the same wheels with a +20mm offset. Is that a better option?

Those are going to poke a lot...

By the way, I will be selling my F10 M5 19" replicas with Michelin A/S 3 245/40 -19 with less than a month/800+ miles of use this week if interested. They are 19 x 8.5 ET35 all around, no nicks, rashes but no TPMS.

I got the 20" version coming this week, that's why I will be selling this set.
