328xi wagon - back seat room?

I am looking at buying a 328xi wagon from 2007. In considering the impending arrival of a third kid I was wondering if anyone had experience in putting a booster and two infant seats in the back seat. If not, does anyone have the measurements for depth and width of the back seat? The interior measurements provided when I searched for it were less than helpful considering what I am wondering.

Any insight is much appreciated

Did you search? I'm sure I've seen a discussion of this (perhaps on a sedan) before. Might have been on another forum, though. Pretty tight, if I remember the results.

Mine measures 4'6" wide and 1'10" deep.

Hope that helps.

I'm in the same boat sort of: If you are trying to fit two car seats an an infant seat in the back, look at the Diono car seats, specfically the Radian RXT. I did my research and yes they are a bit pricey, but the narrowest of car seats on the market and made exceptionally well with nice features. We eventually have to fit 2 car seats and a infant carrier in the back of of a 4runner. Sounds like it would be easy but 3 car seats no matter how you look at it still takes up a lot of room. Good luck with your search.

The e90 back seat is not very big and certainly not wide enough for three typical car seats, mounted properly, and easily accessible for adjustments. There may be narrow seats that could work, but I'm pretty sure you will not like the set-up every time you need to move a seat around. Now with two kids, you must have had to do that multiple times. If you use the LATCH/ISOFIX connectors to secure the outboard seats, they become centered between the connectors. I don't think many seat combinations will allow an infant carrier to fit in between the outboard seats. My e90 has two boosters in back and my kids cant even lower the seat back cushion with the drink holders. No way an infant carrier could fit with our two seats. I'd bring the seats you'd like to use to look at the wagon and see for yourself what will really fit. Three across in most vehicles is difficult.

If you end up looking at other vehicles, look at the hiproom measurements. The Acura MDX was one of the widest I saw, in addition to the minivans. I ended up getting a used Sienna (as a third vehicle in addition to my 330i and wife's XC70) for those times (like tomorrow) when I need to haul more than the wife and two kids.

Good luck!
