How to replace trunk tail light bulbs?

My left tail light on the deck lid keeps going in and out. I do get the tail lamp malfunction on the dash when this happens. I took the cover off the trunk and when I touched the white bulb housing it lit right up. I thought ok it works. Closed it up and next morning out again. Took the cover off but can't seem to figure out how to remove the white bulb housing to get to the bulbs themselves? Could it be a faulty bulb?

I moved wires and pushed the plug but can't find any short or such? Any suggestions?

It seems like its a type of ground short like when I push on the white housing it lights?
I'm stumped!
Thanks

I had similar problem in my 2008 e90. I tightened 8 mm nut visible on the light assembly and the problem is gone. At least for now.
