Was it leaking oil, vacuum leak, why are you replacing the gaskets?

replace the head bolts while you have it apart.

I had a leak from the valve cover gasket, I just replaced it. yet I had a strange issue...

the valve cover gasket did not sit fully flush into the edges of the valve cover, but when I tighten the screws, it was squeezed into the valve cover and now it is sitting nice and flush.

anyone had this issue? I even thought I might have bought an oversized gasket!
