Need Tire help for 2007 M6

I have a 2007 M6 Coupe that I just put 20" Niche apex wheels on. The front rims are 20 x 8.5 with a 255/35-20 tire and the rear rims are 20 x 10.5 with a 285/30-20 tire. The front tires fit great but the rear tires dont seem wide enough for the rim. The rim sticks out past the tire. For obvious reasons I want the tire out past the rim like the front tires are. What is the widest tire I can put on this rim that will still clear? Does anyone know or has anyone else had this problem? Should I run a 295 or a 305 wide? The company I bought the rims from told me the tire sizes to use thats why I went with these sizes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
