thank you and goodbye

Dear Bimmerfest,
In order to help our son reduce his student loan payments, we decided to sell the our convertible 2005 645. : (. At first I was trying to figure out other means but this was the best decision. This happened 4 weeks ago and its taken this long for me to post. Loved that car !
I would like to thank bimmerfest for all the knowledge you provided me over the last 4 years. I learned so much from you guys but I want to give special shout outs to Yorgi, Mulchman,Herbp ,tampamark and Vincent from bimmerzone.com because I inboxed them a lot. If I missed anyone please know you was appreciated.
We pick up a 2013 Audi Q5 Sport SUV. Its a hot little SUV fast and handles like a car but it aint my 6er. LOL!
I would like to stay on board if that's ok with the administrator because I already told the wife that I m getting another one in 2 years.
Thank you all again,
Blake

Re: thank you and goodbye

Life is good when a downgrade is an Aud Q5! I am a fan.

Good luck, definitely stay on the board, this isn't a members only club. It will keep the passion alive to grab another 6 when your two years are up.

I know the the feeling, I really miss my 645, what is good about this forum is that many have changed their cars, (like myself) but find this forum the best around, I still try to support new owners and help from my knowledge of the car........how many other forums gain that loyalty???? Anyway good luck with the new car and like you one day I will be back in a 6 series>>>>>

Enjoy the new Audi Blake, they are one of better SUVs on the street. There are several guys hanging around this subforum who have sold their 6ers so don't be a stranger.

Sorry to see you sell, but life has of way of getting in the way sometimes. The Q5 is a nice SUV, as my daughter had one. If your does not have the ski rack bars on top, there is a brand new pair sitting in my basement, I would love to get rid of.

Take care & good luck!

The Q5 is a great choice, but I'm struggling with how you help pay off student loans when you sell a car worth about 20 grand and replace it with one that retails for 45 or so. I certainly couldn't get away with that kind of excuse for car shopping fever, but then again I live with a finance master who has been working on nothing but fixed asset implementation and software product management for the 20 years we have been together.

Whitedesigns,
Hi it sounded crazy I know. We just sold the 6er outright for the cash. He owed 26000 in loans and now he owes just 5000. We didn't want to see him stressing those payments. We didn't have a car note so after selling 6er she wanted a SUV so the Audi SQ5 it was. LOl. A very fast SUV I might say. I miss the BMW too and I will be back in one hopefully around 2015.

These are the sacrifices we make for our kids. Hope your son knows how much you love him to give up the 6. .
