No. Most people are getting Invoice or 1k over Invoice.

But, prior to that, lurk this and XBimmer forum to see all the issues F15s are having as a version 1.0 model and see if you still want to get a F15.

I appreciate Zipforia's enthusiasm and his many contributions to this forum, but I think he overstates the case here when he says MOST people are getting invoice or $1K over invoice.

Some people on this forum report getting $1K over invoice, an even smaller few on this forum report getting at invoice. And bear in mind that the people on this forum are the way-way insiders, who are far better equipped to even attempt to get a great deal than the vast majority of buyers.

The reality is that this is a new car in the beginning of its launch and thus in very limited supply. So the majority of dealers are currently under no pressure to discount off the MSRP (indeed, some are trying and occasionally succeeding in getting a dealer markup on top of the MSRP). And thus the majority of buyers to date are paying closer to MSRP than to invoice.

But reality will change over time, and when the supply starts to grow and when the demand from the eager early adopters (count me in that group!) is sated, then (and only then) will the normal price get closer to the dealer's invoice.

I appreciate the compliment. And I believe you are correct. I might have been overstating this.

Allow me to rephrase: "I have seen some people stating that they have received invoice or 1k over invoice."

That's where I ordered mine!

Although kind gesture, don't think it'll help the OP. I believe he's from New Jersey.

He could fly to Greenville, SC, pick it up from the factory and drive back to NJ....

If the OP is looking for a local source, West German BMW will order one @ $1,000 over invoice.

MSRP vs. Invoice price?

I built an X5 on the BMW website and sent it to my dealer. He is willing to give me approximately 6% off MSRP. How can I figure out the invoice price? Can I do better than 6% off MSRP?

Invoice is roughly 93% of MSRP. So, 6% off is about 1% over invoice (about $600 or $700 depending on your particular configuration) which is a pretty good deal. Also if you are going to lease, make sure you are offered the right money factor as this is another way the dealer may try to make money on you.

I was able to negoitate 8% total discount off MSRP including 1k savings by financing through BMW at 2.99%. Final price was exactly the invoice price.

Bravo! Since you are in DC, can you maybe pay a visit to Congress and put your negotiating skills to work there please?

Ask for Dave Cochran. He does $1,000 over invoice and base MF rate. (tell him Arkady gave out his contact info).

92% of the MSRP is a good approximation

I am also in the DC metro area and are working on building our 2014 X5. Do you mind sharing which dealer/SA you finalized your order with? Did you opt for the PCD in SC? I can also PM you separately.

Contact this guy if you're open to out of state purchase. waylon@myrtlebeachautomotive.com

He gave me 7% of MSRP which is close to invoice price. but he charges 498 document fee which I think is rip off btw I haven't ordered from him.

Thank you, will keep that option in mind. Actually was also thinking about PCD on the new F15.
