Check with Scott Smith at Flemington BMW NJ- I couldn't work with West German

He is hard working and does try to rep his buyer as much as possible- For a car salesman he is a good guy :-)

Mention my name it might move things in a positive direction

Ordered on 3/1 expect car end of month

Good luck- Joel Berger

Scott will probably want you to visit before he can provide a firm deal

I'm in SoCal and despite some posting here to the contrary - no dealers in SoCal that I've contacted (and I've contacted quite a few) are willing to be give me $500 over invoice on a custom order. Some are WAY higher than that. If anyone knows a dealer in California who will do $500 over invoice or close to $500 over - please pm me.

No one is California is doing $500 over invoice.

The best I could find is $1000 over invoice.

If you can get $1000 over invoice, you should take it. And be happy In the SF Bay Area, the dealers we contacted were all pretty much MSRP or a little below. A cheaper price would be great, but I'd worry about my order getting bumped for higher margin sales.

I agree... you should take the $1k over invoice. Also as important as the price, to have the dealer commit on your allocation and production number if possible. The last thing you want is to lock in on a deal that will take months to delivery. The wait will be painful.

Thank you guys so much for the help on this - what a great community this is! I've had several people PM me with their detailed deal specs and that has been super helpful. I will post my deal details after it's done.

You guys rock!!!

Mein Auto: upgrade soon from toyota
I live in a rural area with just one reasonably close BMW dealer (and of course they know it) (the next nearest dealer is 2,000 miles away in Canada). How often do people in my situation get $1k over invoice deals to be accepted? It would be great if people who are not in an urban area with ready access to multiple dealers could post what they are getting.

Just came back from the AD in North NJ- was ready to do a deal with 1000 above invoice they were absolutely no no to my proposal and stated the best deal will be 1000-15000 of MSRP
most people in NJ buy X5 FOR FULL MSRP???????
Made my choice easy for 85K/ 86.2 MSRP/ PC GTS is knocking on my door
Alex
P.s. I know AD for years and bought a few cars from this place

Could have done a PCD and found a dealer to do $1500 over invoice, pretty sure they're around.

I worked with David at BMW of Portland over the weekend on a new X5. He was offering $2000 over invoice (that was his statement, although when I compare it to Edmund's invoice price it looks closer to $2500).

After a quick round of negotiation he offered a good (but not great) price for my trade-in - mid-range on KBB trade-in for "good" condition.

The X5 is still in transit and I would expect it to arrive and complete the transaction before the end of the month.

While not the best price compared to others on the thread, it was a smooth experience.

I'll send you a PM with the details, but I would highly recommend Michael Borbet at BMW Mountain View. They did a very competitive deal on a factory order back in March.

What a great thread!

I'm in N. Florida and my local dealer, which I generally like, isn't budging far off MSRP. They said they sell everything they are allotted to order w/in a month of delivery. I suppose that's the hazard of a smaller market.

I'm ready to pull the trigger on a 35d order if there's anyone who will do approx invoice + $1000. I'd appreciate any leads for ideally the S. Atlantic and/or Gulf Coast area. Thanks!

I was driving myself crazy between PC GTS/RRS HSE and X5 5.0 M sport.
Pulled trigger yesterday, when ordered 2014 X5 M sport.
Loved GTS, but could not accept lease of 1600USD/no and very expansive maintenance
in a final analysis a few features of BMW/ DHP, HUD,MC seats, sporty and good looking steering wheel, acceleration of TT V8, free maintenance, and good lease number/ were the main factors that helped me to make my decision.
Thanks Alex

Thanks for the reply! Congrats on ordering a great vehicle! What kind of lease numbers were you able to get on the X5?
