Introduction

I thought I would introduce myself to the Forum. My name is Josh and my wife and I live in Tampa.

Right after getting married my wife's friend let us test drive her e46 and we both really liked it. Our first place together was about 45 minutes away from where my wife went to college so we agreed to sell her truck and she got a 2001 325ci to save on gas.

A few months later, unplanned, our situation changed and we had to move. So we found a house 2 miles from her school and 5 miles from my work and bought it. My wife, a country girl, really missed not having a truck and with her short commute decided to sell her bmw after only a year and got her favorite truck, an 88 f150.

Fast forward another year to today and my wife graduates in 2 days and already has a job lined up. Now that we're back to two incomes I traded in my 13 year old car and purchased a 2011 e90 and my wife got a 2008 e92. Don't worry we still have the truck so she won't be having any truck withdrawals.

Smart to keep the truck.

A simple 4x4 is good to have around.

Some people on this site could have a good simple 4x4 for bad winter weather for the price of the snow wheels/tires they buy every 2-3 years.

If you want to let me know where I can get and maintain a 4x4 for $1300 the first year and $700 every 3 years thereafter, I'm in.

Re: Introduction

I didn't realize so many people on here were interested in trucks.

The one we have is an 88 F150 4x4 5 speed manual with the 5.8L V8 lifted with 33's. Click image for larger version

Pardon my best friends butt. He was thoroughly checking out the truck when we bought it. Lol

Nice try. Actually that's my friend's butt. He went with us to check out the truck when we bought it. My wife did take that picture. Maybe I should be worried.

If you take into account the money you've get out of the vehicle when you sold it I don't think that's entirely too difficult assuming the vehicle was fairly reliable during the time you had it.

I'd buy an early 2000's Tahoe/Suburban for $4000-$6000.
You could get at least $3k for it down the road when you sell it.

good call on keeping the truck. Kept my 4wd SUV when I bought the Bimmer too. I just can't see the BMW with a bike rack on the back or going up a trialhead in the Rockies! I keep her inside in inclement weather also. That's a nice looking truck too. Welcome to the Fest!

It comes in handy when my wife wants to take her kayak or canoe and go fishing. Can't put a canoe in the back of a 3 series.
