Check Engine Light
I have a 2004 BMW X3. I have now been to 3 different BMW repair facilities trying to find a long term solution to my check engine light coming on. The car seems to hesitate when "punched" and also runs rough at the same time. The light resets itself if I baby the car and don't fully accelerate.
The first shop, my regular facility read codes P2237 and replaced the oxygen sensor as well as code P3240 and replaced the thermostat. This resulted in the light coming back on before I got home. As they didn't have the equipment to address another unrelated code a month or so later, they referred me to another BMW location.
The second place repaired that problem but couldn't address the check engine light because it wasn't on an there was no code. They wanted me to bring it back when the light was on. The second location said they thought it was something to do with the gas mixing as the car seems to hesitate when given a lot of gas.
I recently had to replace my radiator reserve while out of town. This 3rd repair shop fixed that issue but said it would need some time to check on the mystery check engine light.
Does anybody have experience with this issue or a guess as to what to address next?
