Side Mirror Potential Issue?

So when I put the car into reverse the passenger side mirror tilts down and I am able to see the road close to the vehicle. The driver side does not? Is there a fix or a known issue? What is the solution?

Only the passenger mirror is supposed to. If you want to stop the passenger mirror from doing that, flip the mirror adjustment switch to the other side.

Principle being that dipping the passenger mirror allows you to see the curb while parallel parking - but there usually is no curb on the driver's side.
