even if you put it park on an incline/decline and not pull up the parking brakes, the car will still roll forwards or backwards.. live and learn... and if I were you give that u still have ur permit and not a license, I settle with the lexus driver... otherwise, u'll never get your license or ur insurance.

The Lexus had a dent in the rear bumper, which was easily repairable. My license plate and bumper/bumper guard were damaged, but not badly at all.

Question Play the Lottery, you are one lucky dude !

First of all, let me say that you are a VERY lucky young man. I have read all of the responses, and I agree with them all. Here's another thought. When you parked in this semi-circle that had an incline, did it also have a street curb on the right side of your vehicle? The reason I ask, is that one of the first things you learn in drivers ed. is that when you park on an incline, you should turn your wheels INTO the curb. That way, if the car moves, it will be stopped by the curb. You also need to get into a religious habit of setting the emergency brake when in park. Using Mom as an excuse is no excuse. If the emergency brake is set tightly, the car has a difficult time moving forward, not the same is true in reverse. I have a hard time believing that your Mom could drive around "normally" if the parking brake was set "correctly".

Just my 2,

Greg

When did you start drinking coffee? I thought coffee is for 'grown-ups' but then again what do I know.

Joel,

How long have you been driving? How much time do you have in the X5?

I've gone through undergrad, grad school, and three kids (with one going to be a senior in high school next year) and never picked up the coffee habit. Think it's time to start

The car normally rolls a few inches, this was a matter of maybe 7-10 feet. In NH, any tickets, violations, accidents, etc. go on the record of the licensed driver you are with, so it is my mom's insurance, etc. that go up. My mom is going to pay for the damage to the Lexus.

It all started this summer.... It was hot, I was thirsty. I got an iced latte from Dunkin' Donuts.. I LIVE on them. Lattes are the best!

I've been driving since late April. I've done practically all my driving in the X5, unless it's in the shop and I drive the Volvo.
