N52 Oil separator hoses

Hey all.

I changed out the starter this weekend. Got it done.

But I have a few issues.

When I start it up I get a semi misfire for a few seconds and then it's smooth. I checked and all I had was pending lean banks 1 and 2 but no SES light.

I'm thinking the hose from the oil pan to the oil separator did not click as loud as the others... Man I hope I can get to it with out removing the intake manifold again!

Second issue, which really scares me is the furthest back intake manifold bolt was really tight. I used a small 1/4 driver but it was not going in smoothly.... Maybe if I have to remove the intake I'll run a thread chaser down that hole to clean it up... It's so close to the fire wall it scares me!

I cleared the codes I'll see if they come back tomorrow... Hopefully not.

The starter replacement was a preventative measure.... It would take longer the past month to fire the engine up... So I think it was on its ways out, I'd rather change it out now before I get stuck some where.

And by the way if you have the plastic valve cover, this would never happen to you, there is just 1 oil separator hose in your model....

What model is this? N52B30? Found in 330s.

If so check the disa valves.

I've been noticing a loss of low end torque and rpm drop when the engine was cold and at speed. Like when I'm 4th gear and cruising at 40mph, let of gas rpms dropped to about 900rpm! Almost like it was going to stall

My outer disa valve was broken but the motor was still working. No lights, not other signs except those I mentioned.

Ohh the reason why I brought this up is because my car would hesitate sometimes in start up. If I have it gas, the fluctuation in rpm would go away.

I also heard a slight rattle from the intake manifold when accelerating, which was the flap just flapping away inside the manifold.

I have the 325i

But would I like to switch over to the updated intake and plastic valve cover...

All those plastic vacuum hoses suck. They need to make some Teflon flex hoses with threads....even if they were just nylon wrapped.
