E90 backup camera

Hey guys I've research all over the forums and threads about the backup camera installations and I know it needs a 12V relay to switch the voltage on the reverse light back up to 12. In my situation I'm retrofitting the wireless peak performance backup camera everything works turns when the car is on (without engine being on) but today when I started the car with the engine being on I installed the relay and it didn't do anything my reverse lights shut off as soon as I connect the other wire to the battery I don't know what is wrong or if the relay that I'm using is the wrong one or if connect it incorrectly, I don't have an Idrive either but guys please help me out thanks..

The first photo it the relay that is a four pin 12v one, I used the same wire but put tape on the negatives to distinguish one another. the second photo I'm holding a wire, that wire I wired it to the battery of the car the four and fifth photos are the connections to the reverse tail light positive and negative.Click image for larger version

I don't mean to offend but that is some really poor soldering.

Get a relay harness and use quick taps to splice in the harness. If the relay ever goes bad, you just pull it out then plug in a new one.

What camera kit did you get?

I leave mine powered 24/7. No issues for the past 3-4 months.

Google Bosch relay. It should bring up some diagrams to help you. Most will be for some kind of light wiring. It's the same

You can but you would have to get it coded to the navi after words once it's connected
