No built in bluetooth on 328i

Hello,

I test drove a CPO 2013 328i and liked it very much. The price is $28884 which is pretty decent price. The only downside is that the bluetooth is not built in. The exact same problem described here: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...-Music-Options

The sales guy suggested that the Bluetooth can be added. Is that right? Has anyone installed the bluetooth into a 328i? Could anyone give me some suggestion?

For $13, you can buy a Bluetooth adapter that fits the 30pin Ipod/Iphone adapter...

I have this in my 2011 328i (non navigation), and it works great.

Thanks cbergcberg.

No iphones in my family. But I guess there must be equivalents for MicroUSB phones. Questions:

1. Even with these addons, I don't think I will be able to use the streering controls for the call and volume functions. Any suggestions on this?

2. I guess most of these bluetooth to Aux adapters will require some sort of power supply. Last thing I want is a maze of wires running around in the car. One charger for my smartphone is all I want.

Thanks again.

First you need to find out what is really in your car.

First you need to find out what is really in your car
You need to go to a free vin checker site and print out the
options if don't have the option sheet.
If you have Idrive the path to do and oem upgrade will be different
than if you have pro radio.
Somehow from reading a lot I got the impression that Bluetooth , USB where built
into all Pro Radios after 2011 they are in Europe I believe. If you have one of
those all you would need is a Microphone and to enable the features.

There are modules from mobridge and Dension that will give you a bunch of
functions like Bluetooth phone , USB , ipod and A2DP streaming with wheel
controls and on screen song selection if you have idrive.
