Fitment issue on new OEM Msport bumper

I just got my car back yesterday with the new OEM M Sport rear bumper. The shop typically does great work and the paint is perfect. However, the passenger side of the bumper isn't quite right. As you can see in the pictures, the bumper is pulled in past flush. The shop said that the guides that hold on the bumper sometimes aren't perfect once the bumper is removed and that is the reason. Has anyone had any problems with this? Can this be adjusted? How difficult is it to install a new bumper guide? Any help would really be appreciated!!!

The tailights need to be repositioned.

I just pulled off the tail light. The side bracket clip is not pushing out far enough. I did adjust the left side of the tail light and it fixed the one gap. It appears that I will have to replace the mounting guide unless anyone else has any ideas?

Try some foam blocks behind the panel to bring it out. They will compress easily to allow you clip the bumper on but will keep pressure to push the panel out. It will be a trial and error type thing getting the foam thickness correct.

Mein Auto: 2009 BMW 335 I
I think your body shop guy is giving you the gears. Had a modification done to my 2009 335 cab. The rear M bumper was from BMW and the front was after market. Both rear and front fit perfectly. Especially with a BMW part I wouldn't expect a problem with the fit. Take it back and have them fix it.....I know how much these parts cost, they aren't cheap you should have a perfect fit.

The foam blocks are an interesting idea, but I would probably just install the new bracket if I was taking the bumper off.

Toronto, You might just be correct. The shop did some work on my Z4 before and did a perfect job, so I assumed I could trust them. The main problem with going back is that it is a 30 minute drive and they are only open during working hours M-F. I should have taken a picture with the tail light off the other night. It does appear that the bracket is the culprit. I attached a pic of what this bracket looks like. If you notice on the one end there is an unsupported curved piece. This is the piece that should push out on the bumper, but because it is unsupported it relies on the rigidity of the plastic to push it out.

It is #4 in the schematic.
