If you get the new lights with the glass lenses be sure to get the Laminx clear covers also it will help to keep you lenses from getting small rock chips and getting broken like mine did when I got behind some guy with a trailer that had gravel on it.

I was just on their site, too. No E36 headlights. If you can find some there I'd appreciate a link to the webpage that has them.

Yeah, I checked their website a day or two ago and didn't see them listed, either.

That sucks, I just scrolled through their inventory and their prices are surprisingly awesome. Maybe it's a limited time offer thing, and they'll pop up there again at some point.

Their supply of DJ Auto and DEPO lights was sporadic at best. Sometimes they had them, sometimes they didn't, much of the time they were "waiting on the next shipment" while your order went unfilled, sitting in their backorder file. LOTS of people had bad experiences with them regarding timely shipment of orders. Great prices, great products, crappy customer relations. Fact, plain and simple.

I personally never had any trouble getting the lights as far as them having them in stock. What I did have problems with was them requiring a couple of confirmations if you pay with Paypal and the total was over a certain amount. I sent payment, then ten days later they told me I had to verify my payment through Paypal BY MAIL within 7 days of ordering. The next day I got an email saying they'd cancelled the order since I didn't verify in time. Their customer service and I had a little discussion about that, the payment went through, and I got my stuff a week later. It's a stupid way to run a company, that's for sure.

Try these guys. I got my Depos from them and they typically list lenses separately....

Wow! I never realized that $110 of the $175 for a set of DEPO headlights was the GLASS. I'll take better care of mine from now on! LaminX here I come!

Sooo my wheels rub the fender when turning really sharp (u-turn, 3 point turnaround, parking, etc)

This is what the passenger side fender looks like. It's rubbed all the way down to the metal

Is this really bad? Don't really know squat in this department so i guess its time to learn any help would be appreciated. What would solve this problem? lower profile tires? wheel spacers? or new wheels altogether?...

the tires are 225/60/16.

You've got tires that are too large in diameter. The design tire diameter for the E36 is 24.7" to 24.9" which is what you get with the 225/50 x 16 or the 205/60 x 15 that are the OEM sizes. Your 225/60 x 16 tires are 26.6" in diameter which moves the inner shoulder of the tire closer to the body when you're at full lock. That's why you have the severe rub. Spacers would actually make the rub worse because even though it moves the wheel outward it also increases the arc it moves through and the intersection point with the body moves further back where there's even less room.

If you want to calculate your tire diameter:

Multiply the width by the profile number divided by 100. 225 x (60/100) = 135mm

Divide 135mm by 25.4 to get inches. 135/25.4 = 5.31"

Multiply that figure x2 since you have tire on both sides of the diameter. 5.31" x 2 = 10.63"

Add that to your wheel diameter(tire inner diameter is the same) to get tire outer diameter. 16" + 10.63" = 26.63"

My other cheaper option would be to get 225/50 tires? Which is good because I was planning on replacing my tires this summer.

Tires are definitely the cheapest fix right now. Something a bit smaller would work. It seems to me those wheels are 7x16, Style 104's. 225/50-16's like dc_wright will fit perfect. Personally I can recommend Bridgestone RE760's or Yokohama S-Drives. They're not stellar performance tires, but they definitely are sporty and grippy without breaking the bank. Got about 15k miles out of the S-Drives on a Civic. Dunno about the Bridgestones, as we sold the car before they were worn.

Haha that's funny because HICAS is the exact four wheel steering system used on Nissan Skylines from the 90's exactly as Texan engineer was referring to. But yeah that was never a thing with BMW

Also I just installed some DEPOs on mine, **** I guess I better get some laminx. Also if you looking for euros I got mine from an eBay vendor. Look up depo e36 headlights on eBay and I think they're still selling em. 140$ not including shipping, but that's as cheap as I ever seen. They're proper good too, comes with the wiring harnesses and all that, plus the city lights look sick

Post pictures of said city lights? I had AE's on my last ti and for this build I can't decide to go AE or cities.

Unfortunately my dude I dont really have a photo taking mechanism (my phone has broken screen) but I can 300% garuntee you they will look better that angel eyes. When I installed them on friday all my buddies on the racing team (Formula SAE) were like, "Oh my god they look sooo good!" and this is coming from the muscle head southerners at Louisiana State who rarely appreciate old euro cars. Angel eyes look a bit tacky imo. These just look classicaly european. I would really like to know where to buy some laminex though. Also they look far better in person than in google pics where it just looks like yellow lenses on the dippers
