Those higher number M cars get real pricey and have lousy resale values. Better to buy them used/CPO.

Based on the photos, the new 2 Series looks very promising.

Yes it looks nice, but isn't it front wheel drive? Kinda spoils it.

...sawing machine....classic!

Our local dealer is switching to "sawing machines" across their entire loaner lineup.
Suppose it's a clever strategy to entice owners to get back into their own bimmers, sooner than later...

To comment on your other observation, not only is the F30 ugly, with a 4 banger as the entry level engine, but quite expensive. Yet BMW sales continue to achieve new records, month after month.

I'm with you Chop. That bulbous nose. When I had my '08 535 I had a '12 535 loaner and I hated that hood rise form the inside of the cabin as well. I guess we'll see what's on the market in 5 or so years, or maybe longer. But for now E92 all the way!

I stand corrected. That makes the 2 more appealing than I thought.

That rear end of the 2 series does give me a little pause. I will withhold judgement until I see it in person, but it is promising from many angles.

I was checking out a brand new M6 at the dealer the other day. Wow, what a gorgeous car for sure.

One reason I bought my 335 coupe is I think the E92 is maybe the best looking BMW made in the last ten years or so. My last car was an 07 530. Good car and looked good from some angles, from others, not so much. At one time I wanted a 7 series but they seem to get uglier and uglier. The new 5 series in kinda bland looking.

M5 or M6 are all good. It's been said that the 6GC is what should have been the 5... I can see it. It is a beautiful car. Then again, so is a 5 dressed up in an M-Sport package.

My Wife bought a 2012 E92 320d M Sport in mineral white...It's the sexiest car to look at.... I drove a 428 demonstrator and thought the iPad jammed in the dash was... Well, not properly thought out & generally it didn't seem to be built quite as well as the E92/93, it went well for a 4 pot but you just get the feeling that you're wringing its neck to get that performance, handled real well I have to say but when I got out and did a doubletake between the 428 and my Wifes 320 it was no contest. I bought a 2011 E93 335i at $24000 cheaper (Aussie dollars) than the 428. What a car, Can't wait for the cooler months when I can get the top down, that motor is superb, in sport mode the sound is intoxicating, I've been sweating, driving with all windows down just for the sound.
I just hope they revise the 435 before my next changeover!

Regards - Mark C. Perth Australia

Men are known to have overlooked even more than that for a 300 lb lighter girl

In any case, looks of the 4 are not bad at all, but this next round I want something lighter. Unfortunately, BMW currently has no car in the lineup that makes me calculate and recalculate what is the highest monthly payment I can tolerate - talk about a moving target.

I'll wait another 18 months for sure before getting a new car, so by then we will see if I get a CA brave enough to get me M235i without sunroof or if ///M2 is released for less than $50k base price. If none of these comes to be ... I guess I will have to settle for Cayman. Or Alfa 4C

I've seen the new 2 Series in person and can say it would be my current choice out of BMW's (soon to be) current offerings, based on my budget anyway. Really sharp car that doesn't suffer from the awkwardness that the 1 series did.

Mark, if that unbearable misfortune comes to pass, I will drive out to Cincinnati to commiserate. I hear there's a facility up in Lexington that helps people who have been forced into sports cars come to terms with the situation.
