X6 E71 / E72 (2008 - 2014)
The BMW X6 luxury crossover went on sale in April 2008 as a 2009 model year. BMW referes to the X6 as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, xDrive and all-weather ability) with the stance, styling and roof line shape of a coupe. The E71 X6 was built off the E70 X5 (2007 - 2013) platform at BMW's Spartanburg, SC plant. Total worldwide sales were just over 235,000, sold mostly to the BRIC countries. US total sales was 34,082 vehicles.

X5M rims (Style 298M) on X6

I've got some 298M OEM rims from my X5M.... will they fit a new X6? That's 4k in new rims / tires that I'd really like to re-use.....

Thanks

Do you know what the centre bore is? The x6 is 74.1mm in the front and 72.5mm in the back.. If both your wheels on the x5 was 74.1mm than just get some hub centric rings. Good Luck!

I know that the offsets are different on the Style 298M rims than the standard 19" OEM wheels available on non-M models. I wanted to use the winter set (19" Style 258 wheels w/ Blizzaks) from our 35i on our new M, but was told that they wouldn't work due to the size of the front calipers. I'm not sure about the other way around, though.

Well, I guess we'll find out! I'll see if I can get the wheels swapped out this week.

I had an OEM winter set from my prior X6 50i that I know wouldn't fit over the brakes on my X5M. It doesn't *look* like the X6M (which the 298Ms do fit) has any wider wheel arches than the X6 50i Performance, and I believe the center bores are the same size.... so

You're right!

Literally just had them installed, and they look really good! I can't believe I used the "official" non X6M rims last time around!

Here's a quick and dirty (literally!) picture I took on my way home. I'll take more in the daylight tomorrow

Thanks for posting that pic. Looks great! Those are the rims I'll be using for winter on my X6M, but I can't decide whether or not to get them powder-coated even darker. I like the gray color a lot (and it looks great with your black vehicle), but I think with my Space Gray, they might look better even darker.

They actually look pretty dark "in real life". I had them on a blue X5M and they looked *very* dark in contrast. On the X5M I think that they actually looked better than the stock rims (heresy, I know!)

FYI - my car is actually carbon black, so not quite as dark as "true black".

Oddly the same part number as the non-dark version, so I think it's a lottery as to which you'll get

Think they will go well with space gray - I have seen them on a space gray X5M and I was impressed - those are one of the nicest looking 19" Wheels for our SUV / SAV s

Appreciate the feedback. That's definitely the direction I'll go for my winter set-up.
