Please Help Charging fault and reduced power engine fault

I have recently had a new logic 7 amp replaced in my 335 convertible then 48 hours after my batery is dead, managed to jump it of another car then took it round the block to see if i could get some charge in the battery, whilst out the CHARGING FAULT came up on the idrive screen shortly followed by the engine fault with reduced power.

Could anyone tell me what might be the cause, heard a few people mention it could be the water pump/alternator belt might be damaged, or could it be something the audio place have done replacing the amp

Thanks in advance

hmmm...could be coincidence and your battery was close to failing anyway....you can have the battery load tested to see if it is in good health. I would do that first.

There may be a draw on the battery from the new amp, so I would take it back to the place that did the work for a system check.

I have not heard of a water pump causing this problem and is probably unrelated...the alternator can be tested too to see if it is putting out sufficient charge...I think somewhere around 12.5=14v is about right.

OK!

Now that your data's in, how did you hook up your new amp? Wiring diagram, please.

Turns out that water has managed to get in somewhere and this had got into the well where the battery is in the boot and corroded the two battery points, which was the same issue i had with the amp on the opposite side

Knowing that terminals sit on the battery top, did the well completely fill with water?
