Sigh 88 535i problems

Ok help from you gurus is needed!
I own a 88 so it was leaking coolant got it looked at they said it was trapped air and bled my system... Still leaked- still went to hot and still got the warning come up on my dash board! Took it to someone else the did a pressure test they replaced a hose to the radiator cost 420.00 nz dollars- then the battery is flat one morning- get a jump start go to work 2 days later go to start the car and it turns bit doesn't fire ( tried once) turned key off but something under the good is still running car won't start even with a battery pack - car gets towed to the same ppl who replaced hose I also notice a big puddle of coolant where the car was parked. The mechanic says the hose was lose says he's fixed it- then says I need a new starter motor - I replace it - theeeen he calls and says I need a new alternator as it's not holding it's charge???? Then he calls back and says it's ok now! Wtf!! Then he says my car is only running on 5 cylinders- then he says it's ok it's only on 5 when idling something to do with vacuume pack!??? Anyways what do you all think!!! So I now notice a new warning that wasn't there before he had it and that is "oil sensor" FFS I love my car but can't handle this stress being 31 year old girl and all!!!! Ugh please anyone help me fix this!!!!!!!!! Click image for larger version

To start with; you need another mechanic, one who know what he's doing. You need an accurate evaluation of your car's cooling, charging, and ignition systems. We could speculate on what's really wrong, but someone who is actually familiar with older BMW's would probably find what your real problem is. I'm guessing all three issues may be related to one problem and you need some overdue maintenance. Good luck and keep us informed.

Thanks for your reply ;-( so depressing! Well I took my battery into a battery specialist and he said the mechanic was lying as it failed the test so we fitted a new one so maybe it will have an impact on the situation. It does need someone experienced however it's finding them that is the hard part :-(

Try searching this forum and www.Mye28.com for members from New Zealand. Maybe they can give you a recommendation of a good mechanic. You can't continue dealing with this incompetent fool.
