My 2012 Space Grey 335i Possibly FS?

Well, we just inherited a car from a relative and my 2012 335i coupe may unfortunately be the odd man out.

Anyone interested in a Space Grey 2012 E92 335i auto, M-Sport, with NAV, HK Sound, heated seats, 335is black tipped exhaust (bought from Tischer with receipt), TSW Mirabeau wheels (matte black, plus factory 19" wheels in boxes) and several port-installed (at the VPC so they appear as original equipment and covered by warranty) carbon fiber accessories such as chin and trunk spoilers and mirror covers, glacier silver interior trim (like the 335is has) aluminum pedals, alcantara steering wheel insert?

MSRP on it was $61K when I bought it NEW in March of 2013. 3+ years still remaining on factory warranty. 8K miles on it. So Cal car. Fantastic car. Love the growl of the 335is exhaust. Head turner. Babied by middle aged car-nut.

OK - exactly what did you inherit that would bounce the 335 out of the garage?

Also might help to post what amount of $$$ you're asking for.

I'm too embarrassed to say it's a Honda. We now have 5 cars and 3 drivers (heading on 4) and the 335 just doesn't fit any particular task other than weekend fun. It can't haul the soccer or lacrosse teams. It doesn't work well even taxiing the school gang because it's a coupe. We have a Tahoe Z71 for skiing, a Tacoma PreRunner for hauling crap, an Acura MDX for hauling the family, and now the 4 door Accord. Something's gotta give.

As for the price, well, I don't find it particularly useful to set an arbitrary asking price since people are only going to offer what they feel it's worth anyhow. So, someone make me an offer. We all have access to KBB and NADA and Edmunds, ebay, Autotrader etc. We know what a comparable car would cost at the dealer.

Hate to see it go but someday down the road I'll replace it with a 2014 C63 coupe with the 507 package. Now that's an animal!

I doubt that Carmax would come close to private party price. I'd keep it before I gave it away.

Carmax will offer you slightly under the lowest NADA "good" rating on even an immaculate car with <5k miles on it.........at least that's all i was offered for my 535. If you can wait it out go private party but if you want to let it go with only an hour of work and are willing to wave off $3k-$5k extra from the eventual PP sale - Carmax will take it.

You need to be patient and willing to hang on to 6+ months if you are looking at PP sale.

$42K OBO. Sorry. Unlike most 2012's, this car still has over 3 years of factory warranty and maintenance remaining.

Oh, and the original factory Style 230 wheels are in boxes in my garage and would come with the car to the next owner.

Car comes with TSW Mirabeau 19" wheels on it.

Weird. Unless I was already thinking of selling this before the Accord appeared I'd be selling the Accord. Can't quite fathom an Accord bumping this car out of the line up.

If it were a sedan it might not. And if immediately selling off a car that was bequeathed to you and not your brothers and sisters wouldn't be seen as bad form, we might sell the Honda. However, circumstances are what they are. 5 cars is too many for a house with a 2 car garage and only 3 drivers. I'll be back in the purchasing mode soon enough. Probably a C63 coupe in the 507 package. For now, it's time to dump the unnecessary drain on the wallet.

Do your homework and price it right. I sold my boat last week within a 24 hour period of placing the ad in Craigslist. I also sold our Subaru WRX a couple of years ago with an ad in Craigslist. That car took a week to sell.

You never know. It may be worth your while to do the same.

P.S. You're not going to get your money back on the extras you put on the car. It will just make the car more attractive to a prospective buyer.

I'm surprised mods haven't moved this to the For Sale section already.
I don't think the price is too high, but unfortunately you'll have to lower it some to be within the market in your area(BTW I realize your mileage is very low).

I'm not expecting any money for the wheels. The rest of the stuff (with the exception of the "is" exhaust) came on the car as new and appear on the BMW build sheet since the items were installed at the port before the car ever arrived at the dealer. A BMW Performance Exhaust was also installed at the port but it has since been replaced with the OEM and warranted "is" system.

Equipment and mileage-wise, I think my car is superior to that one. Just hoping to field some reasonable offers. If none, I'll sell something else.
