hey fellas need a bit of help. I'm at at work and I get a call from the wife. she said car is broke.
2008 328xi
she sends me this picture this part hanging down.
yes it is winter here and lots of snow, ice & salt on the roads.

engine under tray ??? kind like a belly pan or skid plate ?

I crawled under last night and I saw NOTHING of the sort hanging there. under body is pretty flat. if there was something there is is gone now. if she picked something up on way to work and back home ( honestly all of 1/2 mile total and don't get more than 20 mph ) crawling back under again tonight to have a peek again. I did find a annoying rattle ( vibration ) we were getting at low speed. that long pan ( plastic & sheet metal ) underneath had a bunch of small stones and rocks in it. Have to pull that off I think. this is the one that has the trap door for the oil drain. other than that I honestly don't know what that is in those pics.

That looks like the peice of plastic that us usually around the thrust arm bushing. Probably a chunk of ice knocked it off.
