Depends on what your actual use will be, pure drag or drag & street. Lot of guys including the BMS factory cars are running Nitto 555R for drag racing & in dry warm weather states some use them on the street. They have minimal tread depth & will wear fast. I have Nitto 555R's for my Cobra, weekend car not a DD, but use Conti DW 275X30X19 as an all purpose tire for the 335is.

Conti DW & Michelin PSS are the pick of the litter for street performance. Nitto 555 no "R" are also a good street oriented tire with normal tread depth but not the same quality of the other two.

BTW the 335is will perform pretty well at the 1/4 mile track but its not the best choice for a drag racing car if low ET & high MPH are a goal.

If you are just going to have a good time at the track you can race anything, that's what makes drag racing so popular. Back in the day when my race car was under the weather I won a few street eliminator bracket trophies with my wife's Caddy Fleetwood Brougham.

IMOH if you are serious about it I think a 335 will be just an exercise in frustration & broken parts.

Yes, I think there are better cars to use for drag racing, and like you said, cheaper to run and fix too.

You mentioned the Caddy. I dropped the transmission in my father's Chrysler Imperial company car when dragging it on Woodward Avenue in Detroit back in 1970. Fortunately for me, his company told him before to schedule his car for service because they received a recall from Chrysler about the transmission.

Talk about luck. I was able to switch it around in my favor by asking why he would let me drive a car with a dangerous defect.
