HVAC center console becomes really hot/cold

I have the metal/titanium trim.
  • when running heat the center console becomes very warm. I mean >100F and hard to touch between shift lever and HVAC controls
  • when running A/C, same area becomes very cold.
Vents to rear seat are open. I've mentioned to dealer, and foreman said the HVAC connections looked normal and the connections are loose/friction fit so some air into the transmission tunnel is normal. Seems real hot/cold to me.
Anyone else noticed this issue? I'm taking car to dealer this week so any advice would be appreciated.

do some temp measurements for the complaint if you haven't,, infrared thermometer will work and let us know,, my console does not show the problem you described
another note-- if the insulation is inadequate under the console the heat/cold from the drive-train will come in.
