Almost done..

I've been doing some work on my 09, 328i and felt like showing my progress. Since buying, I have added LED side markers. 15% all around tint (excluding windshield, where I am working on finding someone who will do 50% on it). I had the wheels off my old 323ci powder coated black and added new tires. Also I have my 328 lettering in black.

The two things I am thinking about next are adding the Phillips diamond Vision bulbs, and painting my calipers. I know the mass opinion on painted calipers isn't the best, but I really think it will look good.

Exhaust is something I have never done, so I'll have a lot of research to do prior to any exhaust work. But I love the racing, ( I call it screaming) sound.

Air intake may be the only "performance" mod I do, but that's something else that will require lots of research for me. As I am still technically a noob. But none the less, here she is.

DIY mod for sound available at Google

Air intake pointless, performance-wise.

And here's the question: Do you want to look good, or be good?

I do not anticipate racing, or needing some super preforming car. I just use it for leisure, so I guess "Looking good" is what I am most after.

I have read that some air intakes alter the sound of the car some for the better, any truth?

I'd use the money for your exhaust instead... your return on investment isn't going to be worth it, and depending on what you do, you're potentially doing more harm than good.

An exhaust won't get ANY return on a 328i. Waste of money IMO.

It's true, yes. Will it perform better than OEM? Probably not significantly. Will it sound better? Probably.

The "return" from an exhaust, in my situation, is sound alone. Not worried an ounce about HP, just would like a nice sound.

Painted calipers rock. Go for it. What color?

You should research deleting your resonator. Maybe that will give you the sound you want for a lot less $$ than an exhaust.

Do a drop in air filer and be done with it. Not much to gain, performance wise with the NA engines.

I personally have an oiled aFe drop in with air silencer and charcoal filter cut out.

You can look into the air silencer and charcoal filter delete if you want a small bump in intake noise....it's minimal.

Thanks.. I will look into that topic, I have actually never ran across that in all of my readings.

While I have some people replying, whats the reviews of phillips clear vision over diamond vision? Is that a good brand to use, issues, etc? I think the diamond vision is supposed to be more white, which is my goal.

Other, maybe better, tips for getting the strong white halo look are appreciated.

the calipers are aluminum, at least on my 335i they are, I sanded the casting flashing off, smoothed them up all over and painted them AL color, just for protection,

AL does corrode so paint is a good idea

just plan on two days without your car to paint them

OK, but before you spend money on cosmetics, have a look at Michelin PSS and Koni FSD.

Go ahead - SEARCH here and GOOGLE for same + 328i - you'll be impressed! Good juju for the Daily Driver....
