2009 E93 vs 2011 E93

Folks,

I can't decide which is a better/smarter purchase. your opinion is highly appreciated.*

Keep in mind that I'm located in Canada where is everything more pricey than the US.

I'm currently facing two options :

1. 2009 E93 M3- CPO 67000 km/ 41000 Miles - Listed price $45,000
* *1 owner, Canadian vehicle, sold and traded at my local BMW dealership, and have two years warranty.

2. 2011 E93 M3 - 36000 KM/ 22000 Miles - Listed price $55,900
This is a US vehicle and have no warranty in Canada. it was lease in New York. A Canadian non BMW dealer paid the required exporting fees.*

Which one would you pick? whats the different between the 09 and 11 ? Is CPO beneficial ?

The difference in price after taxes(13%) is almost $12,000.

Being a M series and a hardtop convertible, I would opt for the 2009 with the warranty. I assume it is a BMW based warranty? You may want to ask for the service records to ensure all of the scheduled work has been done.

The differences between a 2009 and 2011 are minimal with the exception of a combo box and Competition Pkg. The 2009 will have the updated Nav.

Updated taillights and DCT, as well. Get the 2011.

The taillights would be low-cost upgrade. In my opinion, a factory warranty would override the benefit of a newer model year.

A newer model and 20,000 miles difference is a lot, I would go with the 2011 if you can get the service records on that car

The 2009 has far less baggage and the one I'd go with between the 2.

Of course, option C is - shop around some more. There have to be more than 2 E93 M3s available for sale in Canada.

Thinking about doing European Delivery? Read about my ED experience. Best trip, ever.
