How to Clean Nav Screen?

I did a search on this without good results, also checked the Owner's Manual, so here goes:

What should you use to clean the Navigation Screen? Yes, I know, a clean dry cloth, but would you use any of the solutions marketed for computer or iPad screens etc.?

I just use water. I was afraid glass cleaner would turn the plastic hazy, especially something like Windex. I use Stoner glass cleaner and I don't know of it's ingredients but regardless, water is the only thing I would use.

This; same here. I'm reluctant to try anything that might leave a film or worse, damage the non-glare surface.

I use an item marketed for a I-Pad screen, purchased at Office Depot, and it works well. You shouldn't have to clean it a whole bunch, probably.

I heard that a microfiber towel and the Einsatz cockpit cleaner works great. Is this true?

Mircrofiber cloth and a bit of breath fog or water is what most photographers use on camera lenses to clean photographic lenses of stuff, including greasy fingerprints.

i dont think it says on the site its good for LCD screens, but it does on the bottle. Be careful though, it attracts bees, very sweet citrus smell.

I use Plexus on the clear plastic, with great results, as it also works well on the gauge cluster. I find less dust is attracted to those surfaces.

Plexus is a great product....I used it on an airplane I used to own....on the windows. Kurgan, are you saying you use it on the navigation screen? I'd definitely use it on the gauge cluster and the clear plastic covers over the headlights. Not sure about that Nav screen.

My nav screen is actually behind clear plastic, so I'm not touching the actual screen material. It appears to be the same clear plastic used to house the gauge cluster. It's worked for years.

I don't believe there is any clear plastic protecting my Nav screen. It looks like the actual LED or LCD screen itself. Thanks for the clarification.

I'll get a photo later, yes, they may be different. I pulled my nav screen out to apply some felt to the top for a rattle, it was definitely encased in clear plastic. Maybe they were changed in later revisions.

Edit: photo sample (M6)

In fact, my screen looks much like this, the front section is clear plastic, the actual screen is protected underneath.

Whatever spray cleaner you decide to use I make it a practice to spray the cleaning cloth (microfiber, cotton, etc) and NOT spray the surface to be cleaned. You don't want overspray making it's way to any sensitive electronics. Now I realize that it's not likely that anything behind the display will be the victim of overspray but if you make this "technique" a practice it's more likely you'll adopt a good habit instead of a bad one.
