Engine Temperature

My 2006 X5 6 cyl. temperature gauge never moves out of the blue range. Coolant level is correct. Car heater seems a little cool. Could it be a thermostat? It was 10 degrees yesterday!

do you have any software like inpa ,gt1 that might tell you if the thermostat is working, i have the program but never used it yet so maybe someone here will jump in to confirm that using these programs would monitor the thermostat. its possible its the stat but you never know .I hate guessing on parts that need replacing .

I do have a BMW scanner tool. I used it to reset my air bag warning lamp. Could it be used to scan the thermostat?
