Disable horn..how?

Wife drives an X5. She is out of town and just called. She tried locking the doors with both key fobs and it didnt work so she locked the door using the key. Now worried when she unlocks the door the alarm is going off. Any input on this? I am guessing pull the horn fuse but she is unaware of its location

if she manually locked the door with the key and unlocks the door manually with the key the alarm shouldn`t go off. plus its not the horn that goes off its the siren under the hood that would go off. If i`m wrong let me know but I don`t think so.

Ditto...the key arms/disarms & locks/unlocks the vehicle whether used manually in the door or using the remote buttons. This is verified by the red LED (clown nose) below the rear view mirror.

And if for some reason the alarm does activate when she unlocks the vehicle...the way to shut off the alarm is to insert the key into the ignitions and turn it to either position 1 or 2 (or start the car). See ALARM DISARMING in document below.

Inserting the key into the ignition allows EWS to recognize that the correct key is being used so the car is probably not being stolen.

Also, have her lock the vehicle and watch the red LED to see if it flashes rapidly for 10 seconds, then slows down to the normal slow flash. If it flashes rapidly, it means that one of the DWA monitors (anit-theft alarm siren system)is remaining open...and when this occurs, many times the remote locking ability ceases to work.
