x5 Failsafe mode

My x5 goes into Fail Safe mode if I slow and stop for a light, or slow and make a 90 degree turn. After a stop, it returns to the regular shift mode until I again slow or turn. Does anyone think this condition could be cured by installing a voltage stabilizer? If so, which and how? Many thanks.

Already replaced alt.

Thanks for responding. I thought it might be the alt so had it changed and it is fine. Should I try installing a 'voltage stabilizer? [/I]

theres a regulator on the alt that keeps volt consistant so I wouldn`t think you would need a volt stabilizer installed ,thats my opinion.
