I love driving my X1 Sports in the snow

It's a lot of fun driving an All Wheel drive X1. We had up to 8" inches of snow, no problem at all. The real test will be tomorrow morning on the way to Washington DC that will get up to 12-18 inches of snow.

Anyone else having fun driving their X1 in the snow?

I just drove to NC from Richmond and there was nothing to worry about.

I've been very impressed with the Xdrive. I had to drive 70 miles today during the big east coast storm. No problems at all. I'm also impressed with the stock Pirelli P7 all seasons. I haven't felt any need to get a separate pair of dedicated snows. Drove some unplowed roads with about 8" of snow and had no problem. Drove up some steep icy hills as well. Only thing that's gonna stop the X1 is snow depth. You're not gonna be able to push your X1 through 12 to 18 inches.

Mine handled the 12 inches like a champ. I only ran into an issue when I ran into big ruts and compacted snow under the body--to be fair a Ford F-250 got stuck in the same spot just as I was getting unstuck.

You were able to drive through 12 inches of unplowed snow? I'm
Skeptical.

It was packed snow, so no issues. If the body cleared it, it would go. It was only when there were ruts from people driving on it that I had an issue.

I have been very impressed with how my X1 sport has handled winter conditions as well. It seems to exhibit very predictable behavior on ice and snow.

Yes, the ruts in the snow are a huge issue......I was sliding all over, went very slowly.

Yah, ruts are a problem but that's not the X1's fault... Just the physics of ruts in snow. I've been loving my X1 in the snow as I posted a while back. Since then we've had a number of significant snow storms and the X1 has been every bit as good as my previous Subarus with TC off, and with TC on it's so much better than they were with TC on. (That said, I prefer TC off for full control)
