Some additional leg work may be required, but I'm sorry to tell you that it's not a good deal.

I recommend the following: contact the internet sales guy at 3 other local BMW dealerships. This may done over the phone and through emails. You live in a part of the country where there are many competitors and all of them would be special ordering your car from Spartanburg, SC. After you get quotes from the other dealers bring it back to the one you want to do business with and they'll be forced to match the lowest quote.

You could save another $1500 or so.

Feel free to PM me.

Do the following to figure out invoice price: take the MSRP of the base price and multiply by .92. Then add up the MSRP's of all the added options and multiply by .91. Add these up along with MACO and Training; in NJ it's $380 and $180 respectively. Lastly add in the destination charge. Now you have the INVOICE price and you can work up from that. Much better than working down from MSRP. Every dealer has DMV fees and maybe some other small nonsense fees- keep a separate total for this.

$500 over invoice is about what you should pay.

Nit pick. Wouldn't it be multiply by .92 and .91?

No, base is multiplied by .92 and options by .91.

To be even more specific, each individual option needs to be rounded up or down to the closest $5.

Regardless, dividing by .91 or .92 would have made invoice higher than MSRP.

Just corrected my post. Yes, multiply not divide.

Horrible deal, and some dealers might be able to get the Comfort access added if you order one from the factory for a price. BTW, the cost of the premium package is roughly $10 a month and the resale is better too.

You should be able to get about $3500 off MSRP... Just need to know how to play the game.

Mein Auto: 2015 X3 sDrive28i
Long time lurker first time posting,
Finally bought my first BMW (well ordered)

2015 X3 sDrive28i
Mineral Silver (Thinking about changing it to red)
Oyster Nevada
xLine
Driver Assistance Package
Technology Package
HK Surround Sound

MSRP 47800
Invoice comes out to be 44565 including training and MACO,
I got it for 44800, which is 235 above invoice, exactly 3k below MSRP

I think I got a pretty decent deal. It took me only 1 day to get that price, I dont' think I can really get any better (I mean maybe i'll get someone to go 100 above invoice on a 2015? probably not...)

But since I kinda want the car before end of June and this is a 21st week slot I just went for it.

Really excited!

Don't buy a new car without a backup camera. Even if you think that you don't need it - it will soon be mandatory.

I've never negotiated for a brand new car before… how do you manage to get $500 over invoice for a 2015? The dealer near me is stuck firmly to about $2500 over invoice for the 2014s still on their lot, even though they also have '15's. I would expect '14's to be below invoice by now, wouldn't you?
I've found an X3 28i Deep Sea Blue, with Premium and Driver Assist Packages, and Nav and Cold Weather, which is pretty much exactly what I want. I figure invoice should be about $44.7k, and they are going no lower than $46.9k. This was with the internet salesman today.
Thanks!

Hmm not sure where exactly you are but using east tennesse as a basic point

the car you want assume it's a sDrive.
base msrp 38400
metalic finish 550
leather 1450
cold weather 950
driver assist 950
premium 3200
nav 2150

total msrp 48575

invoice including training and MACO for your area should be 45270 according to truecar

I am not sure how many bmw dealers are at your area. For me I simply emailed all of them around 50 miles of me (7 of them) and wait for them to compete with each other. It took me less than 1 day to get a dealer to agree to sell at 250$ above invoice.

Thanks for your input. I have involved a couple of dealers in this fashion, and have two of the three helping me out. The first price I got back was about $2K 'High' - (and $2K below MSRP)...but I am stopping in tomorrow to show my interest....and confirm some color choices.

Hopefully I am successful.

So when is BMW going to update the X3 web site and allow us to build a X3 with the M Sport package?

BMW UK website configurator has the M Sport package up already. They pretty much have everything available to build. Obviously their packages are a bit different than North American packages but you do get to see what the M package build looks like.

Thanks for the info about the UK site. Apparently Deep Sea Blue is now available to order, but is still now showing up on the USA site. At least you can see it on the UK site.

Thanks for the tip!
The Knoxville dealership is now offering $5k off MSRP on all 2014s on the lot. A single email exchange has gotten another $1000 off, which puts the price of one originally listed at ~$49,500 down to $43,500. Any thoughts on how much less to offer? Negotiations haven't even really started yet. Apparently they are really ready to get rid of their 2014s.

What's interesting or sad (depending on how you look at it) but if you go to cars.com web page you can build a 2015 X3 with all packages and get invoice price, but NA web site doesn't show everything...

How I look at this is, if you are happy with 43K, then go for it. The dealers will only go down so low, plus trying to squeez out an extra $500 or so you might lose the x3 you want...
