Car Shakes Violently

Here is the story no check engine or anything car has 45K miles on it. My wife was driving to work this morning and she noticed that car started to vibrate violently on red lights and seemed to have little or no power.

No check engine lights, possible vacuum leak ? Any suggestions? Also, this problem seems to hope one day than disappear and happens every so often?

No idea. They can't fix a car in the shop. How can we fix it across the internet?? j/k but that sounds like poor or bad quality gas. Quickly top it off using the best gas and keep doing it often in the next few days until we kind of get a good tank. Another way is have a technician look for a code. This is the best way. good wishes!

why mention "bad gas'?????? Total red herring! It is exceedingly rare and doesnt 'come and go. IMO.

Agree that this cannot be diagnosed over the internet. BRING IT TO A MECHANIC WITH A BMW DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER.

I'm glad someone pointed it out.

Which car has this problem?

def. see a mechanic...the only thing i can think of is a cylinder misfire in one of the cylinder coils or something (used to happen in my lexus until i changed out the sparkplugs and all coils)

After taking a longer ride last night I got the check engine. P304 - Cylinder Misfire 4. Bimmer goes to the mechanic tonight. I would do it myself however no time and wife needs the car asap. Looks like bad coil in my opinion nothing major.
