Rattle repair

On my 2010 X5 35d I have a nice little rattle under the cargo area left vent shown here:

Has anyone seen this before? If so, what did you do to fix it? It appears to be under the vent, so if anyone can instruct me on how to remove the plastic cover or maybe the carpet panel adjacent to it so I can find what is rubbing.

Thanks in advance for any information.

+1 on need instructions so that I can check mine too. I always thought mine is due to the cargo cover thing on the same left side.

(It rattles everywhere! The other day I placed some velcro in the "tool tray" area (under/around the screwdriver, oval tow hook and the L-shaped thing.)

Unbelievable, on the base of this I was able to eliminate the rattling in my car. The D latch of the tailgate really is loose, and for some reason it even looks like it's meant to be like that. The lower end of the latch moves just slightly, and by putting something (like two pieces of 1 mm thick plastic) in between the gap solved the problem. To really see inside how the latch is fastened, you would need to loosen all the covering plastics.

Could be the plastic tabs on that piece - it's a single piece - that go into the metal frame. The tabs should be covered with felt tape. There are instructions online for how to do this. I'll try to find them.

My rattle actually turned out to be very close to your location which were the folding seat latches. They creaked until I put a bit of grease in the mechanism. Now it's totally silent.

I still need to see the pictures to: "Remove the quarter glass vent trim (1) per Repair Instruction RA51 47 156"
