Misfire 92 E34

My BMW is misfiring. Did a resistance check on on six coil packs and got a reading of 0.9 Ohm.

Fuel injectors have been changed. Had a little bit of oil on spark plugs. Going to change those and replace tube seals.

Any other ideas or advice?

Thank you
Tabor

Hello Tabor. Good to hear from you again. Does the misfire occur after the car warms up? I had a coil go bad (as have others here) and it tended to manifest when the car got up to normal operating temp. Thing is, the resistance was fine when I checked it when it was cold.

I have a spare that you can switch out with each coil to try to narrow it down if interested.

Hey Steve,

Thanks for the reply. The misfire starts as soon as you start the car. Sometimes I start it and it feels normal but a majority of the time it shakes pretty bad. I check resistance while engine was hot and all coil packs read 0.9. My concern is the oil on spark plugs.

I press the gas and it feels like the engine is running very rough and shakes.

Where are you located? Possibly could ship coil

You can unhook the coils one by one and isolate a missing cylinder...

How much oil in the cylinder wells? If there is a lot, then yes, it can cause a misfire. I would recommend you inspect the spark plugs and replace them as needed as well.

BTW, I mistook you for another TWard that we have here on the Fest. Welcome.
