05 X3 Now at BMWUSA.com

The 05 X3 is now buildable at BMWUSA.COM (The 3.0 model is now showing moonroof standard and free Steptronic at the same 2004 base MSRP)

I built a 2.5 and a 3.0 fairly loaded (auto/sport/prem/leather/moonroof/navi/prem. sound/servotronic/Xenons) and got the 2 vehicles within $2000 of each other and $21/mo on the lease payment. It looks like the 2.5 makes more sense if you don't want lots of options and the 3.0 engine is almost "free" if you're going fully equipped. And yes I kow that $2000 isn't free but on a B-mer it darned close.

I built my car on there and with the discounts they were giving during the spring, the 05 is about $1k more. Pricing definitely seems more reasonable.

It's priced right in between a 330i and 330Ci spec'ed out the same. Interesting...

The 3.0 is so much more compelling now. One wonders what BMW has in store for the X5, since the X3 3.0 is so much more of a value over the X5 3.0.

Mark: did you see the itinerary for our X3 ED in the spring? You should ED an X3, too, and we'll meet up again over there. 12 days in the Lake District and Tuscany with an F1 race thrown in...yummy.

Then I'd be up to my butt in new cars!!! I think I'll stick to the 5er a little longer....but the trip sounds great. I have a buddy in Stuttgart working for BAE or BEA or whatever. He says he's sick of driving his Accord with all of the fine vehicles over there.

Wholesale ED on a loaded X3 3.0 is about 38K (loaded the way I like it that is) so maybe for 39-40K you get a very sweet ride.

When can I get a BMW pickup truck???
