Xenon headlight not dipping

My X3's near side xenon headlight does not always dip fully. If I hit a bump in the road it will jump to the dipped position. What is causing the mechanism to jam? Any answers please.

When you first start up the car the DRLs should adjust itself. Park close to a wall and do this when it's somewhat dark outside. Both should level themselvs, if one doesn't, then I'm guessing you may have a sensor problem.

Headlights adjust automatically on startup, even if one is on full beam. It is just the nearside one that will not always dip.

Investigate the positing sensors that attach to the suspension for damage.

I think I have solved the problem. A guy on the Audi site had a similar situation with his xenon's. The lens which pivots between high and dipped beam was touching the glass in front. By pulling the light assembly back it seems to have freed the movement of the lens thus allowing the light to dip. Thanks for the online help.
