Engine Problems in 7-Series - What BMW Hiding?
We all have seen the dreaded check engine light. It can be a little thing such as a loose gas cap or any owner's nightmare a problem that requires the engine swap and takes weeks to get it repaired. So I am reading these posts:
- My 2013 750li needs engine replaced at 6,000 miles
- N63 Engine Replacement
- Short and painful: engine replacement
And couple of other posts where BMW is replacing entire engines tight-lipped and "bribing" owners with good will checks not to lemon their cars.
It gets me thinking that they are trying to avoid a recall of their flagship sedans. If that happens the Ultimate Driving Machine reputation will take a serious plunge and tons of money spent on repairs/replaces.
I bought a used 2013 750Li late January 2014, got it delivered in February. Wow what a ride! I love it! Powerful, roomy, stylish, well you guys already know it.
I noticed a light inconsistent vibration when in park at idle. The car has 14,857 miles. Also there is a slight hesitation in acceleration from stand still. When it is moving, it's beast and I don't fell any weird things.
Please let me know if you have a light vibration in park at idle. Any hesitation? Maybe it's the settings? I have mine set at Comfort+.
- People who suffered from engine replacement(I am sorry it happened to you and your ride) please, please post the symptoms that led to engine failures.
Thanks & Regards
